IFO would include all the DVD info like DVD structure, subtitle, audio and video, while VOB files mainly include video. You can use DVD Ripper for Mac to directly rip encrypted DVD to mpg with subtitle, in the term of personalized video setting and specific file size as you with.

I suggest you read though the following guide before actually trying it, as this may save you a lot of time.

Step 1: Download and install DVD Ripper for Mac

Step 2: Load DVD info

Click Load DVD or Load IFO on the top left, a file window opens, and you can browse to your DVD.

You should insert the DVD you wish to rip into the DVD drive. Alternatively, if your DVD is saved as files on your computer, you can rip from there.



Step 3: Setting

Navigate to the Settings dialog box (shown below) through the Settings menu. Here you can set up output options such as Resolution (file size), Frame rate, Bit rate and set audio quality.



Step 4: Set up output format and output directory.

Choose an output format; it is mpg in the example. Choose mpg in the dropdown menu next to Profile field.

To store the converted video, click Browse to open a files window, browse to a suitable destination folder, and type a filename into the box. Click on Save, then OK.



Step 5: Convert DVD to mpg.

You are now ready to convert a DVD to an AVI.
Wait for encoding to complete and then enjoy your movie.
