You may have already learned how to get a backup of DVD to your hard drive disc. You may have learned to play uncompressed backups of a DVD from the hard drive through Media Center, and you may also have learned that Media Connect won’t stream DVD Movie files to Xbox360. As a reminder, if you do attempt this function, the result will be the following error:

Video Not Supported Video cannot be viewed in media center from a remote desktop connection.
iOrgsoft DVD Ripper for Mac version 3.3.8 is a good DVD Player, a tool for backup DVD content, and most importantly, it is a decrypter that can easily stream DVD to Xbox360 with three mouse clicks. Firstly, you need to use DVD Ripper for Mac to remove all the copy protection and region code on the DVD (most DVDs are encrypted), once the decrypter is finished, you will be able to see .VOB, BUP, and IFO files. Now, you are halfway successful, What you need to do then is to use MAC DVD Ripper to merge all the .VOB files into one big VOB, then convert VOB to WMV, which can be streamed to Xbox360 without problem.

If you are quality sticker and don’t want any compression and conversion process, that’s ok, the another way is to use DVD Ripper for Mac to decrypt DVD first, and use the program to merge all the vob. files into big VOB, now you can change the file extension to .mpg, which can also be streamed to DVD.

The following is a walkthrough that will show you exactly how a DVD can be streamed to Xobx360 using DVD Ripper for Mac and some file tweaking.

Step 1. Download Mac DVD Ripper to your computer (DVDRipperForMacSTD1.3.8.zip)

You will download a .zip from the link, which contains Intel processor.dmg and PowerPc .dmg file, please choose wisely (if your computer is running on Intel processor, then choose Intel processor.dmg to click on it). Click on the DVD Ripper .dmg you will find a DVD Ripper.app file in it, please drag the .app to your Application Folder, the DVD Ripper for Mac will be then correctly installed.



Step 2. Load DVD info.

You are asked to insert the DVD you wish to rip into DVD-ROM/DVD drive, after you run DVD Ripper for Mac, you can load DVD from there. Alternatively, if your DVD is saved as files on your computer, you can rip from there.

Step 3. Tick the box to Merge VOB Files into One

The DVD info now clearly shows to you as seen below, what we need are actually the VOB files which contain the main video info. Please tick the box to Merge VOB Files into One on the bottom right.



Step 4. Start Convert

Select WMV as output format in the drop down menu next to Profile filed on the bottom left. Then hit Convert, the DVD will turned to wmv after couple of hour’s conversion.

If you don’t want any compression and conversion, then just choose VOB as the output format, you will be able to backup DVD to your computer, then change VOB to mpg will be ok.
